Herman Alfred Sigg was born in 1924 in Zurich, Switzerland and studied at the School of Applied Art in Zurich in 1940s and at the Académie André Lhote in Paris, France. Mr. Sigg’s work spans over 70 years and has been identified with Lyrical Abstraction, Abstract Expressionism, and Color Field painting. In the U.S., Mr. Sigg is represented by the Walter Wickiser Gallery, Inc., which opened in 1990 in Soho, NY. The WWG creates a visual dialogue between various cultures, proving the ability of art to transcend cultural boundaries. The gallery focuses on mid-career and Post War international artists.
